Mercer County Suspect Arrested In ShopRite Parking Lot Stabbing

Police in Mercer County have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in a ShopRite parking lot, authorities said.

At 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Ewing Police Detective Tyler Bender was working an assignment at 1750 Olden Ave. and was alerted to a stabbing that occurred on the property.

Bender immediately assisted the victim with medical attention until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The stabbing victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, reports said.

Witnesses reported that the suspect’s vehicle was leaving the parking lot; officers broadcasted the vehicle description to responding units.

Ewing patrol officers located the suspected vehicle on Ewingville Road, where they conducted a motor vehicle stop and determined the driver was the suspect involved.

Juan C. Rosa, 31, of Ewing was arrested and charged him with aggravated assault. 

The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
